Lillian (Lilly) M. Schardt was born May 15, 1875, in Saukville, the first child of Peter Schardt (1829-1887) and Mary Anna Bell. She married John P Schumacher (1872-1937) on September 17, 1895, and had 6 children with him:
- Margaret M Schumacher (1896 – 1993)
- William J Schumacher (1897 – 1965)
- Peter Joseph Schumacher (1904 – 1965)
- Joseph Schumacher (1907 – 1977)
- Edwin Michael Schumacher (1911 – 1994)
- Lucille Sue Schumacher (1916 – 1995)
In the 1910 census, she was living in Milwaukee with her family, which consisted of her husband John and four children (Margaret or Marjorie, William, Peter, and Joseph) plus 20 year old Lucy Green and 19 year old Richard Green. John Schumacher was working in a brewery and the two Greens were clerks.
In the 1920 census, the family is living together in Milwaukee. In the 1930 census, the entire family (except for Peter) was listed living together in Milwaukee.
John Schumacher died at age 65 on August 3, 1937. Lilly died at age 62 the next year on November 23, 1938, in Milwaukee.
