Alfred Joseph Charles Schardt, the son of Peter G Schardt and Katharine Lauterbach, was born on October 29, 1896 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
In the 1900 and 1920 census, he was living with his parents and siblings in Milwaukee. In the 1920 census, he was living with them in Russell, Wisconsin, about 80 miles north of Milwaukee. In 1924, he married Dorothy T. Mench (1901-1934) and in the 1930 census, they were living in Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin, with a 5 year old daughter named Katherine. They later had a son, Donald. Dorothy died in 1934.
In the 1940 census, he was living in Milwaukee, working as a contractor, and married to 21 year old Martha Cieslewicz, with Kathleen and Donald C (born about 1935) and a new son, Peter C. Schardt. They had three more children, Mark (who died in 1997), Gary, and Schani.
Alfred C. Schardt died at age 71 in San Bernadino, California, on June 1, 1968. Martha died on January 4, 1997.
